The 2000s: The end of an Economical age: The II Industrial Evolution.

In the first issue of future, The Bioeconomist Magazine, we will study the economical, cultural and political tendencies of the decades ahead, the 2000s, and 2010s - the end of the II Industrial Evolution.

The 2000-10s are 2 important decades in The industrial evolution, since they mean the end of a long Kondratiev cycle of reproduction of machines, that has lasted as the previous cycles (Cycles of war), around 80 years. We assist now to the end of the cycle of Evolution and Reproduction of Metal-heads: radio-ears, TV-eyes, and Chip-brains, which complete now in the first robots and satellites, a Head of Metal.

At the same time those decades mean the beginning of the III Age of the Industrial Evolution of machines, the age of Robotics, as we fusion the Bodies of metal discovered in the XIX c. and the Heads of metal of the XX C.

In our issue we will consider those decades ahead, and their parallelism with a similar age in history, the 1920s, which meant the end of the I Industrial Evolution - the age of Metal-bodies (railroads, ships and first mass-produced cars) - and the beginning of our II Industrial Evolution - the age of metal-heads that now finishes.

Because economical evolution is today the main force that determines the future of History, those two fractal zones in the Industrial Evolution are in many ways parallel. And we can establish a lot of similarities between the politics, culture, and financial events of both ages.

Under the tools of bio-economics and bio-history we will compare both ages, and the end of those II industrial cycles - the age of Bodies of metal, and the age of minds of metal that now is about to finish. Then we will easily translate the consequences of those cycles into the future of the political and economical world and the future of our lives... providing also for whoever wants to listen, the right policies that could avoid such dangerous futures.

Simmilarities in Social Systems: The 20-00s, military lobbyism and the end of democracies.

Indeed, what is going on in the world is simple to explain: As in the 20s, new industrial processes and the evolution of machines, in the form of the first robots, compete with human labor, and are throwing masses of workers out of job, while company-mothers substitute them by new machines, now robotics, then assembly lines. This reduces the rent of the people, and diminishes profits of companies that enter economical crisis. Yet because we worship machines, we cannot blame their evolution from the growing obsolescence of human workers, so the system of mass-media targets the poor and the immigrant. This raises the right wing movement, and brings neofascism, which makes of security the main social issue, causing an spiral of repression, and violence, that is self-feeding (Bellum ipse Aleat). As the decade continues, and robotics evolve the situation will become as critical as it was in the 30s in Europe…
We are indeed again in a classic cycle of history/economics: the end of an age of Industrial Evolution of machines and the beginning of a new one, (III Industrial evolution of Organic machines, or Robots, in which we fusion the bodies of metal discovered during the I industrial Evolution, mainly in the XIX C, and the heads of metal discovered in the II Industrial Evolution during XX century, chips, cameras, phones, etc.)

Given the cyclicality and parallelisms of those “Ends of an Era”, we will try in this magazine to foresee the changes that during the 2000s will cause the III Industrial Evolution, by establishing parallelisms with the last of such ages, the age of fascism in the 20s in Europe.

The parallelisms between both ages are obvious, and will bring in the political, economical and artistic arena 3 well phenomena that happen rythmically in western civilizations,  if no measures are taken to control the evolution of the political and economical systems:

 - The raise of neofascism as it happened in the 20s, when the I Industrial evolution ended, followed by

- The expansion of an age of war in which America, main leader of military lobbyism, will play the role of Germany, as the leading agressor country.

- An age of dissolution of human cultures, into violence and rhetoric, or dispair and pessimism, a baroque era similar to that of the 20s in Europe…

-  And finally the creation of a global ecosystem of free markets, in which machines and company-mothers, have higher rights than human beings.

A new society consequence of all those changes, I call the Metal-Earth, (of which what you call Globalization is the most obvious process).

Simmiliarities in the field of culture: The 20-00s, the European and the American Baroque.

In the field of culture, the simmilitude between both ages is already apparent. Artists, are in certain ways, the most sensitive human beings, conscious of the social age of a civilizations. They act in fact as the collective mind of societies, and in such role, they are as the old man perceives the end of his life, foresee the decadence and decline of their civilizations. In the past cycle, of economical crisis, military lobbyism (fascism) and war, that happened in Europe, leader of the I Industrial Evolution, the end of an era, was strongly felt by the European artists of the cycle of Paris. Today as the decadence of America, and its democratic civilization substituted by a new form of fascism, of even higher technological content than the European fascism of the 20s appears on sight, artists foresee the catastrophes of this new age, with the raise of robots and machines more intelligent than human beings. So American film makers, bring box office hits such as Terminator or Matrix, in which the Metal-Earth is foreseen in all its destructive power...

What those films are telling us, as the paintings of German Expressionists, or the writings of Proust were telling in the 20s, is that the changes on the Economic Ecosystems of Machines, are changing not only the obvious patterns of human behavior, but the very same evolution of History, and that they are about to bring an age of destruction of the natural ecosystem, as nothing previously seen. Indeed, the game of history is moving fast, and against History, destroying more and more nature and History, the natural ecosystems of our species, as lethal machines multiply, and politicians ready to use those machines, limit our collective freedom...

"The end of the Age of metal-bodies brought financial crashes, military lobbyism, and a new European baroque, the -isms".
