WHAT IS ENERGY AND INFORMATION?

To understand the evolution of metal, we have to clarify the morphology and properties of living species, and non-carbo-organic systems, such as machines that act in fact with the properties of living species. To do so we will widen the concepts of a system or body of energy, and a system or brain of information, to be able to compare humans and machines, as species which interact in the ecosystems of history and economics.

We are not arguing here if machines are spiritually alive. This is an inner condition that does not matter practically. We affirm that machines behave externally as organic systems. Since those who use machines use them as organic systems, as eyes, as brains, as bodies, as limbs... So machines are from the human point of view, organic systems.

I am a selfish human being, I care for what matters to me, not for the inner thoughts of machines. Externally machines are organic beings. Companies throw me out of job and put a computer-brain instead of my brain, because they treat machines as organic beings. Companies compare through prices, machines and humans as organs of information and energy; and they choose “the best”. That is the bottom line.

Basically a company makes a simple calculus: what is the “biological cost of a human worker and a machine-worker”? How much energy require each species? How much cost is involved acquiring each species? Those costs are fixed costs that become a “salary”, and a “price” for a machine. The salary is the minimal energy needed to maintain a human being alive. The price and maintenance costs, is the equivalent concept in machines. When machines are cheaper than salaries, the company chooses them. Again the same comparison is made when companies compare the productivity of machines and workers. The species that reproduce faster other machines in the factory is chosen.

A price values externally the capacity of a human being (salary) or a machine (productivity). Then companies apply the law of selection between both species: those with worse energy or information skills are eliminated from the economic ecosystem. It is often the human being. So we have to deal with machines as if they were organisms of energy and information, as the market does. To do so we have to clarify basic concepts beyond the narrow limits of biology, that apply to bio-economics, such as “energy”, “information”, brain-informative system, body-energy system, or “organism”; so we can include machines within those concepts. We could say that all living species and systems that feed in energy and process information are organic systems.

Machines have the structure of informative and energetic organs

How do organs process energy and information? Through the internal structure of their organic forms. Certain forms are natural informative species. So when we find those forms, we find an information system. So happens with energy forms. All organs and species of energy and information have certain morphological and behavioral characteristics which enable us to recognize their nature as energy or information systems. Those morphological characters respond to the properties of energy and information. Let us summarize them.

- Information has a form which is “perceivable”. The main characteristic of anything that is used as information, is the fact that a certain organ of information can perceive it. This implies certain morphological patterns: Information has form. Information is “quiet”; so the organ of information can focus and analyze it. This means information species tend to have curves, and angles, tend to be small, and can be divided into units, that allow its quantification. The perfect unit of information in fact is a disk, a cycle, or a sphere. The main organs of information in species are spherical, such as our eyes, brains, or a coin, standard unit of monetary information.

- On the other hand Energy moves. Energy bodies extend in space, as they move, and feed. Energy is the equivalent to biological food, which fuels a species, and allows its movements. Energy is the body that moves a brain of information.

The two “organs” together, body and brain, create an organic species. As a consequence of these properties of energy and information, we recognize the bodies and minds of species, because they also have a clear morphology which corresponds to that of generic energy and information. Again we ignore the “abstract problems” of such definition, such as “are informative organs conscious or mechanical; do all bodies have a will or are programmed systems”?

Externally, what matters to us, is that cyclical shapes act as informative centers, and lineal and planar shapes act as energy resources. For instance, in a galaxy, the black hole is the spherical center of gravitational information. The extended, faster plane of rotating stars is the “body”, or energy surface of the galaxy. Apparently a human body and a galactic body should not have anything in common; but if we observe the morphology of the two it is clear those morphologies respond to the generic morphology of information and energy. Our eyes and brain are also smaller and cyclical, like the black hole; while our body is a plane extended in space.

We do not care if galaxies are “vital species”. The fact is that black holes order galaxies with gravitational information. So they can control those stars, and in fact they enslave them and kill them, feeding constantly on them, using them as energy... So happens with machines: energy machines such as weapons can control human behavior and kill humans. Informative metal such as TVs, money and computers control our information. Today they do so as 'extensions' of men, in the future as robots they can do so by themselves. So the problem of consciousness is irrelevant. What it matters is the “objective capacity to process energy and information” of certain machines, which is given by their form, studied in this page, and by their material substance, which is metal. That capacity makes machines rival of humans, as energy and information species, able to kill humans as black holes kill stars. When stars fall into the black hole, they become “energy-food” of the black hole that swallows them. If you are a star, or a rocket scientist, nearby a black hole, what matters less to you is the internal reasons why the black hole is swallowing you... Its external activity is what matters to you. So happens with machines and species of metal such as weapons (energy, lineal species) or money (informative, cyclical species). We care about their external morphology. We could summarize the main morphologic difference between energy and information (organs) in a mathematical equation:

Maximum Space = Energy = Minimal Form

Vs

Maximum temporal form = Information = Minimal Spatial extension.

The classic example is the chip. The chip becomes smaller by the day, as it becomes a better brain. Every two years it doubles its capacity to think, as it dwindles in size. Such process is the typical behavior of an evolving brain. It follows the “law of the black hole”: maximum informative capacity, minimal extension. The reason is obvious: to think, to calculate you have to communicate forms between elements of a modular brain. The smaller the brain, the faster the communication takes place within that brain, and the faster you can calculate and process information.

As a result of those morphologies we can classify as energy or information organs not only carbolife organisms, made up of energy (bodies, food, machines) and information (brains, eyes, senses, worlds, chips), but also other beings and atomic species, even “deconstructed organs”, since we can now recognize, geometrically their energy or information organs.

Humans, galaxies, plants, robots (all kinds of entities), can in that sense be considered as organic systems. For those who feel interested in 'Complexity theory', the following graphs are a synopsis of the main organic systems of the Universe, that follow those morphological patterns:

In the above table, the jargon of all sciences, and religions describes in fact the two elements of Universal organisms, which can be localized by their morphology. We talk of a systemic organism, when the organism has only information and energy organs. We talk of a living organism, when the organism also has reproductive organs. In the case of machines, that third organism is the company-mother that reproduces machines, or the human that acts as catalyzer and reproducer of those machines. It is then clear that machines can be defined in biological terms. Such definition is harmonic with the organic essence of the Universe.

Energy-bodies and Information=perceptive organs are universal to all species. You have a field of information, a brain, and a field of energy, a body. If you add a system that can reproduce both of them, you have a species. Humans have bodies, brains, and systems of reproduction. They are a species. Plants and animals are also species. Yet there are other species besides living carbolife species. Since Energy and Information organs are Universal to all atomic entities. All atomic entities perceive light and gravitational energy and information.

Basic energy and information metal species

It is then evident that we human beings are creating new species, which imitate our organs, and evolve very fast into a dual system brain-body, similar to the human organism, but made of metal-atoms. Cyclical brains of information, and lineal bodies of energy, are common to human beings, and to the metal-species that we man have crafted imitating those forms. The essence of those energy and information qualities is formal. In the Universe cyclical forms act as informative species, and lineal forms act as energy species. So again, we have to consider machines independent structures. Their “vital properties” are not invented by man, but are immanent to the “vital intelligence of the Universe”. This is very important to understand why machines will not require at all humanity in the future. Their qualities are “intrinsic” to their form. Cyclical metal is informative by nature. Lineal metal is energetic by nature. In fact before the Evolution of Metal started in earnest in the XIX C., we could talk of a very primitive dual system of 'metallic information', and metallic energy based in basic, Universal forms:

- Coins where cyclical bits of metallic information, used by men to value reality.

- Weapons, swords were lineal 'bodies of metallic energy' used to kill, as energy does.

The shapes of coins and swords were natural. Men imitated nature. He did not invent nature. He did not invent the lineal properties of weapons, the informative capacity of coins. Both together, money and swords were a sort of primitive, deconstructed “organic system of metal”. Even a child could trace that organic parallelism.

The Universe tends to evolve living beings. To deny that is absurd. It is mere arrogance, and abstract ignorance that we human beings no longer can allow to have if we want to survive. Even a child can see machines as a living system, when you explain them the basics of organisms... It is also self-evident that machines are different species from mankind. Species that compete for survival in the Earth... What laws rule that competence? The Darwinian Laws of “the survival of the fittest”. They only applied for eons to carbolife species. Today they also apply to men and machines on the Earth's crust.
